History

historieOn 1 February 1931, Mr. Adrianus Lambertus Huyser, born in Amsterdam in 1892, registered the `Commanditaire Vennootschap'(limited company) A.L. Huyser & Co. in the Amsterdam trading register. As the only partner, he contributed DFL 25.000 (around GBP 8.000), and he appointed Mr. Johan Frederik Möller (born in Amsterdam in 1902) as procurator. Initially domiciled at Singel 390 in Amsterdam, the company engaged in the import, export and commission selling of mainly cocoa and cocoa products.

In 1933 the company moved to Amsterdam's Reguliersdwarsstraat 108-144 and by 1937 Mr. Huyser had the trade register report that`our partnership now runs an import and export company in forage, cocoa products and Indonesian products'.

Mr Möller becomes second partner on 13 September 1939. Around that time the company once again moves office, this time to the Vossiusstraat 43. The company’s activities also expand to cover 'import and export in the broadest sense of the word'.

In 1943 the name changes to Huyser, Möller C.V., and having survived the difficult years of the war, the company returns to its basic activities with an emphasis on the import, export and commission selling of cocoa products.

pandIn the 1960s and 70s, the growing transparancy in international trade makes the role of commission selling increasingly redundant. Huyser, Möller therefore decide to concentrate on sourcing and importing of (special types of) cocoa and cocoa products. Moving to De Purmer in 1989, its network in industry and trade steadily expands, finalising the company's transformation into a fully-fledged trading company. In 2006 the company transfer to a modern office building in Edam from where it continues to expands its range of products, now also including coffee.
